Training


In addition to the depots’ warehousing facilities, UNHRD is pleased to provide a range of fully equipped training services and facilities across the Network where various humanitarian trainings can be held.

Services

  • Use of Training Centre premises;
  • Secretarial and hotel booking support before and during the training;
  • Provision of standard stationery items and availability of photocopying and printing facilities;
  • Access to the Internet (wireless or LAN), telephones and fax machine;
  • Provision of transport to and from hotels; and
  • Availability of catering services.

Expertise Available

  • Setup and management of logistics and base camps;
  • Erecting and dismantling mobile storage units, tents and prefabricated buildings;
  • Warehouse Management;
  • Handling and storage of dangerous and specialized items;
  • Packing, labelling and kitting;
  • Administration skills for emergency deployment.

Moreover, as part of WFP’s efforts to enhance emergency preparedness and disaster response, humanitarian organizations can also use UNHRD’s training facilities for scenario-based exercises and simulations to prepare local partners, government counterparts, contractors and WFP staff for the field.
