In 2014, the UN Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) in Las Palmas was inaugurated as the latest addition to the UNHRD Network. It supported the World Food Programme’s Ebola response operations by serving as a transshipment and staging area, as well as dispatching emergency equipment via sea to Guinea. The Las Palmas depot is generously made available by the Government of Spain.
In 2016, the Las Palmas depot dispatched 291MT of emergency supplies on behalf of two Partners and supported humanitarian interventions in two countries. The total value of goods dispatched was USD 1.9 million.
