first drop project

First Drop Project

The First Drop initiative is a humanitarian innovation program designed to address urgent water needs during the initial 60 days of emergencies.

It aims to develop and deploy sustainable, portable water treatment systems that are scalable, environmentally friendly, and community-centered. The project responds to the increasing frequency and severity of climate-related disasters, conflicts, and health emergencies that compromise access to safe water.

Goals

  1. Develop water treatment systems optimized for rapid emergency deployment.
  2. Ensure compliance with WHO emergency water quality standards.
  3. Promote environmental sustainability through low-energy, solar-powered solutions.
  4. Foster local ownership via training and co-creation with affected communities.
  5. Build an innovation ecosystem with feedback loops for continuous improvement.
