UNHRD hubs are now being used to stockpile essential humanitarian supplies on behalf of the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO).
The first ECHO regional stockpile was launched at UNHRD’s Panama hub in late 2022. Further stockpiles were positioned at our hubs in Brindisi, Dubai and Kuala Lumpur.
The stockpiles include essential humanitarian supplies such as shelter itsems, blankets, hygiene kits, kitchen sets and collapsible water tanks. ECHO’s decision to use UNHRD hubs and to provide financial support for our work over the next two years reflects the value of our contribution in enabling global and regional emergency preparedness and providing support for the wider humanitarian community.
